About Security Industry Association and the SIA Women in Security Forum:

On April 12 at ISC West 2024, the SIA Women in Security Forum will recognize the Power 100 honorees as part of its WISF Keynote event at the show. At this free event sponsored by dormakaba and HID, attendees will connect with other leaders and innovators in the security industry, celebrate the WISF Power 100 honorees and hear a motivating keynote presentation from special guest speaker Crystal Washington, technology trends expert and one of Forbes’ 50 Leading Female Futurists, about how to harness generative artificial intelligence like ChatGPT for enhanced performance. “Raised to the ‘power of 100’ in math denotes exponential multiplicity. Quite frankly, so does the SIA WISF Power 100,” said SIA WISF Chair Alice DiSanto. “Whether you’ve known about the Power 100, been at ISC West to see the Power 100 or have been included in the Power 100 – all of us feel the multiplicity that the recognition of women within the industry will bring to the future of security.”

The Power 100 announcement comes on March 8, International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and presenting a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. SIA supports International Women’s Day and launched the SIA Women in Security Forum on this day in 2018. This year, SIA will celebrate International Women’s Day and its 2024 theme by encouraging the Power 100 honorees, the Women in Security Forum community and the larger security industry to work to inspire inclusion.

“There are those special moments each year when the entire industry is collectively inspired. Defined by individuals who demonstrate grit, expertise and leadership, the WISF Power 100 – now in its third year is at the top of the list.  The WISF Power 100 celebrates the extraordinary women security leaders who are changing expectations, having an impact, changing perceptions and driving our industry forward,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “We are honored to mark International Women’s Day by recognizing the impressive accomplishments of this year’s outstanding class of honorees and commending them for their vision, advocacy and impact. At SIA, this is also an important time to recognize the dedicated women members of our team who are passionate about our members and our industry.”

SIA’s Women in Security Forum works to engage all security professionals to promote, recruit and cultivate women’s leadership for a bolder presence within the industry. In addition to the Power 100, the SIA Women in Security Forum offers several programs and activities, including the SIA Progress Award, which celebrates individuals who advance opportunities for women in the security industry; the SIA Women in Security Forum Scholarship, which furthers educational opportunities and advancement for a diverse security workforce; special events at ISC West and East; volunteer efforts that give back to the community; co-development of the Security LeadHER conference; sponsorship of the Women in Biometrics Awards; and engaging networking and professional growth events. Membership in the SIA Women in Security Forum is free and open to all employees of SIA member companies and SIA student members. (Not a SIA member yet?
